Project BUILD serves youth between the ages of 14-21. Project BUILD staff will meet with your child 2 to 3 times per week at home, school, or in the community. We do not serve youth without parental consent. All Project BUILD services are provided at no cost to participants, and do not conflict with any Medicaid services that the youth may be receiving.

Project BUILD sponsors regularly scheduled activities that include the following:

  • Monday Night Group from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Youth participate in skills-building group sessions designed to help them develop social skills; improve relationships with parents, peers and others; and introduce them to valuable information about educational opportunities, employment options, and health services. Monday night group sessions are held at 414 East Main St.  Human Services Building.
  • Summer Camp - Project BUILD hosts an annual summer camp for youth ages 14-17. Summer camp is offered 3 days per week at no cost to families, and youth participate in athletic, outdoor, artistic, cultural, educational and social activities.
  • Evening/Special Events - Project BUILD participants have the opportunity to become involved in youth events such as Kids Vote, My Brother's Keeper, and other educational and socially uplifting activities.

Project BUILD personnel can provide bus passes or can transport youth if we have consent from parents to participate in Project BUILD activities.

Please check out our Parent Fact Sheet for more information about the program, including service delivery, rules, and youth expectations.
